In Loving Memory of Stanley Michalik

Stanley Michalik died January 2006.  Father of three and grandfather of one. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley's memory to Grace Bible Church, 150 Sunset Road, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444 would be appreciated by his family.  A graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Mr. Michalik was an electrical engineer and taught math.  Stanley was also a published author and a war veteran.

In Loving Memory of Aunt Betty

Betty Dominski passed on December 2005 at the age of 85.  Betty was raised in Schuylkill Haven Pennsylvania.  She studied nursing in Philadelphia and later went on to work for a prominent doctor of internal medicine for many years.  Betty loved traveling, painting, pretty clothes and handsome cars.  She came from a large family who will miss her dearly.

In Loving Memory of Uncle Joe

Uncle Joe passed in 03/2005 in Schuylkill Haven.  He died Monday at his home with family members at his side.

During World War II, Uncle Joe served in the Navy as a first class petty officer as a chief carpenter's mate. After training at Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk, Va., he served on several aircraft carriers in the Pacific Theater of Operations. During Joe's service, he received the Presidential Unit Citation for his service on the USS Suwannee and was awarded the Victory Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon. Throughout his life, he had a varied career as both a farmer running the family farm and professional carpenter. Uncle Joe was also a self-employed general contractor and builder of custom homes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the 1940's and 1950's.

Uncle Joe was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 122, Philadelphia, from which he retired in 1980. He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Schuylkill Haven, for more than 80 years. He was also a member of the Men of St. Ambrose, serving as an usher and volunteer for innumerable parish projects throughout his life. Uncle Joe is survived by three sisters, a brother and 48 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to St. Ambrose School, 302 Randel St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

John Henry Koper
In Loving Memory of 'Our Cactus Jack'
   

Cactus Jack and his family first owned a saloon in upstate New York and later a vineyard.  After prohibition, the family moved to a tobacco farm in Connecticut.  Later, he opened a his own bicycle repair business, then an auto repair business.  He became a butcher after moving to New Jersey, where he met his wife Mary.  Mr. Koper later became an electronic technician, working with the Dumont company for 20 years until he retired. Retirement was filled with flea markets, fishing and family. Jack also dabbled in acting, retaining his Cactus Jack moniker.
